Calafat – Ciuperceni is a natural reserve, located close to Calafat, next to the Danube. It includes three natural reserves for the protection of migratory birds and water. The wetlands are favourable for many migratory water species, many of which are disadvantaged in terms of conservation. The place hosts 39 species of protected birds, 71 other migratory species and 6 globally endangered species.
