In the 1920s, some collectors in Slatina initiated a project of establishing a regional museum. They actively sought to collect valuable items and documents for the history of the area, so the Slatina Museum was open in 1952. The Olt county museum holds collections of archaeology, medieval, modern and contemporary history, painting and ethnography that include remarkable assets from the culture in Olt.
