About this sight

The Calui Monastery is said to have been built on the place where the horse of Michael the Brave hoofed the ground and water sprang. The first data about the monastery comes from the 16th century, when the ancestors of the Buzesti family began to build the religious establishment. The church was completed in 1588. The old church, hosts the tombs of the wardens Preda Buzescu, great ruler of Craiova, and his brother Radu.
