About this sight

The Tri Kule Fortress was erected in the 15th century to stop the Ottoman expansion to the west. Its ruins are seen on the Danube shore.
As the name suggests, the fortress had three towers. Only two of them are still visible, as the southern tower is already under the river. Other walls of the old fortress are also found under water.
