The hermitage of Strambu in Gaiseni is founded in the 16th century by Draghici Vintilescu. The Monastery is first mentioned under the name of the hermitage of Strambu in 1526. Even though the church was subject to changes, it is very significant since it belongs to one of the brightest artistic ages of Wallachia.
