About this sight

The Drobeta Roman city includes various ruins such as the foot of Trajan’s bridge, the bath, the castrum and the amphitheatre. Drobeta was the first stone defence fortress erected in Dacia, initially built to host 500 soldiers who guarded the bridge over the Danube.
The ruins are found in several locations in Drobeta Turnu Severin, some of them in the yard of the Regional Museum.
