The Natural Park “Persina” is unique for Bulgaria. It is the only one on the Bulgarian banks of the Danube river. Here is located the biggest Bulgarian and fourth largest in Europe Danube island – Persin, which gave the name of the Natural Park.
The Natural Park “Park” is one of the fifty important bird areas in Bulgaria, part of the European ecological network Natura 2000.
The natural state of the islands in the park, its unique location, the dynamics of the Danube river make the Natural Park “Persina” one of the most attractive natural sites to visit during spring and summer.
Along with its natural resources, the Natural Park “Persina” has witnessed a rich historical past. This is proved by numerous monuments and works of the local historians.
