About this sight

Welcome to the Regional History Museum – Vidin!
The Regional History Museum in Vidin unites three iconic buildings – Museum “Konaka”, Museum “Krastata Kazarma” and the “Baba Vida” Fortress, which are all monuments of culture. In the different building are located the expositions “Archeology”, “History of Bulgaria XV – XIX century” and “Ethnography”. Each one of the buildings exists as an independent historical and museum site, but they are all united by the common goal to preserve the cultural heritage of the Vidin region.
The three buildings will captivate you with splendid views of the Danube river and the city, the performance stage and the constantly renovated local and visiting expositions. The museums are accessible through a wide and comfortable pedestrian zone, surrounded by many medieval fortress gates, authentic atmosphere, quietly hidden in the modern city and reminiscent of the history of Vidin.
You can visit more churches, a mosque and a library, a picture gallery, theater, music events, fairs and festivals.
Here you will find a variety of accommodation, cozy cafes and generous hospitality.
Come and discover the Regional History Museum – Vidin!
