Welcome to Magura cave!
Magura Cave is an exceptional combination of natural landmark and cultural heritage from prehistoric times – Neolithic to Early Bronze Age. It is located at 18 km from Belogradchik, near the village of Rabisha, district of Vidin.
The cave consists of eleven impressive halls connected by a network of tunnels of about 2500 meters. The cave is extremely rich in cave formations and forms.
The Magura cave is unique with its prehistoric drawings. You will see many silhouettes of dancing women which is an evidence of matriarchal society, there are drawings of hunting scenes, animals, stars and tools.
Here is the oldest solar calendar, discovered so far in Europe. It features at least 5 festivals and a year of 366 days. The cave is accessible all year round without special equipment.
