Welcome to the temple “St. Martyr Dimitar”!
The temple “St. Martyr Dimitar” in Vidin a. k. a. the Vidin Cathedral is the second largest Bulgarian Orthodox church of national importance. The construction of the present temple was officially launched in 1885 and completed in 1926 with official inauguration. The temple is beautifully combined with a large outdoor garden. The iconostasis and church furniture in the interior are carved by Debar masters from present Macedonia.
In the city is also the temple “St. Nicholas the Miraculous”with the mausoleum of Antim I, as well as the building of the Vidin Metropolitan.
Together with the temple “St. Martyr Dimitar”, Vidin will offer you many museums, churches, a mosque and a library, art galleries, theaters, musical events, fairs and festivals. Here you will find a variety of accommodation, cozy cafes and generous hospitality.
