Welcome to “Ritlite” phenomenon!
The natural phenomenon “Ritlite” is located in the Iskar Gorge, north of the village of Lyutibrod. Ritlite are limestone rock formations over 120 million years old.
The formations stretch along the Iskar river and represent narrow, high and parallel to each other walls, resembling cart-rails, which is why locals had called them “Ritlite.” The most impressive are the four parallel vertical walls on the left bank of the river.
The peaks of the rocks have formed as fearsome peaks under the influence of weather and atmospheric conditions.
The rock formations “Ritlite“ have been declared a natural landmark.
