The house-museum in Berkovitsa is dedicated to the great Bulgarian writer and poet Ivan Vazov. He was also known as the “Patriarch of the Bulgarian Literature”. In the period 1879-1880 Ivan Vazov lived in Berkovitsa in the house known as “Ipekliyskata House”. At present it has been turned into a museum – an architectural and cultural monument of national importance.
The house is Renaissance type with authentic fireplace and carved ceilings, a large room with cupboards, frescoes, couches, etc.
