About this sight

Welcome to the archaeological and nature reserve “Kaliakra”!
Cape Kaliakra and the archaeological reserve located on its territory are located 12 km to the southeast of the town of Kavarna. This is one of the most attractive places for tourists on the Black Sea because of the rich history, the preserved nature and the beautiful panoramic views.
Many legends are connected to Cape Kaliakra. The most famous of them tells about 40 Bulgarian girls, led by the beautiful Kaliakra, who jumped from the rocks to the sea to save themselves from the Ottoman Turks. In order any of them to get discouraged, they knit their hair together.
One of the caves of Cape Kaliakra has a museum where you can see many archaeological finds found during excavations in the reserve.
On national holidays Cape Kaliakra is beautifully lit by powerful projectors and becomes a fabulous place combining ancient history with the romance of the sea.
Come and discover the archeological and nature reserve “Kaliakra”!
